The Costa Blanca

Costa Blanca, translated means the White Coast, is the tourist name of the Mediterranean coast in south eastern Spain, in the province of Alicante. This popular coastal region runs from the city of Denia to La Manga, in the South. About the origin of the name 'Costa Blanca' several stories are told. The most common is the story that the Costa Blanca is named after the landscape, which used to be white and pink colored by almond trees.

The Costa Blanca consists of 244 km of Mediterranean beaches, coves and cliffs. There are long sandy beaches for sunbathing and rocky beaches, where you can snorkel or dive to your heart's content. Tourism on the Costa Blanca is not limited to the summer season. Spring and autumn can also count on a reasonable influx of tourists. Not as many as in the peak months of July and August, but enough to keep the Costa Blanca alive. Besides the beautiful coastline, the Costa Blanca also has beautiful inland landscapes. These are closely linked to a Spanish lifestyle, rooted in rural life, industrial development and traditional festivals.

The most important cities of the Costa Blanca are: Denia, Javea, El Poble Nou de Benitatchell, Teulada-Moraira, Benissa, Calpe, Altea, Alfaz del Pi, Albir, Benidorm, fines, Villajoyosa, El Campello, Alicante, Elche, Santa Pola, Guardamar del Segura, Torrevieja, the Coasts of Orihuela and Pilar de la Horadada.

Our office Select Estates is located in Altea, one of the most important cities mentioned above and frequently visited by tourists. Altea stands out because it has one of the oldest historic cities in the entire Mediterranean coastal area. The magic of this village has attracted many artists and craftsmen over the years.

The streets of Altea gently descend to the sea. The old village is made up of small whitewashed houses. The town has two ports, a fishing port and a sports port known as Club Náutico de Altea. Nearby is the promenade with numerous restaurants with summer terraces, where you can enjoy the beautiful views of the sea and the coast.
